About Guindy

Guindy National Park is the only national park in the world situated within a major metropolis, occupying a historic 2.7 sq km patch of forest inside Chennai. The park's sand-scrub and dry evergreen forest preserve the Pallikaranai wetland ecosystem and have been protected since the British era as the grounds of the Raj Bhavan. The park's blackbuck herd is one of the last urban populations of this graceful antelope.
