About Brahmagiri Forest
Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary in the Coorg district marks the point where the Western Ghats merges with the Nilgiris at the Karnataka-Kerala-Tamil Nadu trijunction, one of the most biodiverse meeting points on the entire range. The Brahmagiri hills are sacred in multiple traditions and give the Brahmaputra — which originates in the Tibetan highlands far to the north — its mythological name. The sanctuary forms a critical corridor in the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve connecting Nagarahole-Bandipur in the east to the Wayanad forests of Kerala in the west.
