About Mouling Forest
Mouling National Park in Upper Siang district is one of India's least accessible and most biodiverse protected areas, sheltering species across the full spectrum from lowland rainforest to permanent snowfield in a single contiguous block. The park is named after the Mouling village, and its forests are the ancestral territory of the Adi tribal communities, whose traditional forest management practices have helped preserve this extraordinary biodiversity. The Mishmi takin — a spectacular goat-antelope found only in the eastern Himalaya — roams the upper forests.
