About Nameri Forest

Nameri National Park lines the north bank of the Jia Bhoroli River at the Arunachal Pradesh border, where one of India's last significant populations of the White-winged wood duck — one of the rarest waterfowl in the world — nests in hollow trees over jungle streams. River-based safaris on inflatable rafts provide remarkable wildlife sightings in a landscape of outstanding natural beauty, while the adjacent Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary in Arunachal forms the upper catchment of the same forest system.
