About Anshi-Dandeli Rainforest

The Anshi-Dandeli Tiger Reserve is Karnataka's northernmost tiger reserve and the most reliable location in India for observing the black panther — the melanistic form of the leopard — in the wild. The Kali River flows through the reserve, its banks lined with smooth-coated otters and nesting ospreys, and white-water rafting on the Kali has made Dandeli one of India's premier adventure tourism destinations. The reserve's gradient from evergreen to moist deciduous forest creates an exceptional diversity of habitats and species.
