About Bhagwan Mahavir Forest

Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary forms the ecological buffer zone around the Mollem National Park in Goa, together protecting the most significant patch of intact Western Ghats forest in the state. The sanctuary shelters diverse wildlife including gaur, leopards, and a rich reptile community in moist deciduous and semi-evergreen forest. The Dudhsagar Falls — one of India's tallest and most spectacular waterfalls — plunges through the sanctuary's eastern edge, attracting thousands of visitors each monsoon.
