About Pushpagiri Rainforest

Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary is named after its highest peak — Pushpagiri, 'flower mountain' — which reaches 1712 metres in the Coorg/Kodagu district. The sanctuary forms part of the Coorg biodiversity corridor, one of the most important wildlife linkages in the central Western Ghats connecting the Brahmagiri range in the south to the Bhadra forests in the north. King cobras, the world's longest venomous snakes, are resident in these moist evergreen forests and are spotted with some regularity.
