About Phawngpui Forest

Phawngpui National Park, known as the Blue Mountain for the distinctive hue of its slopes at dawn, protects Mizoram's highest peak at 2157 metres and the surrounding subalpine forest. The park's cool, cloud-swept ridges are the domain of the spectacular Blyth's tragopan pheasant, and the views from Phawngpui on clear mornings extend deep into Myanmar and even to Bangladesh on particularly exceptional days. The forest's remoteness has ensured it remains one of Mizoram's most pristine landscapes.
